Devrik Cümle
INVERSION — Sade Anlatım
Devrik cümle aslında tek bir mantığa dayanır: cümlenin başına olumsuz/sınırlayıcı bir kelime gelince, cümle soru gibi devrilir (yardımcı fiil öznenin önüne geçer). Aşağıda her kalıbın önce düz (normal) hâli, sonra devrik hâli ve Türkçesi yan yana verilmiştir.
Önce Mantığı Kuralım: "Şalter Kuralı"
The Core Logicİngilizcede düz cümle sırası hep aynıdır: Özne + yardımcı/fiil + ... Türkçede ise biz devrik cümleyi sıkça kurarız ("Geldi mi acaba…", "Hiç görmedim böyle bir şey"). İngilizcede ise devrik cümle rastgele değildir — sadece belirli kelimeler cümlenin başına gelince ortaya çıkar.
Kural çok basit: Cümlenin başına olumsuz veya "ancak/sınırlayıcı" anlam taşıyan bir kelime gelirse, o cümleyi soru cümlesi gibi devirirsin. Yani yardımcı fiili (do/does/did, have, is, will, can…) öznenin önüne alırsın. Tıpkı bir şalteri açar gibi.

Only … / Not until … (Ancak … -ince)
Only then · Only after · Not until"Only" veya "Not until" ile başlayan cümlelerde dikkat: Devrilme ikinci (ana) cümlede olur, başta değil. Türkçesi genelde "Ancak … -dikten sonra …" şeklindedir.

Two Events, One Right After the OtherBir olay biter bitmez ikincisi olur. Türkçesi "… -er -mez …". İlk olay genelde Past Perfect (had + V3), ikincisi Past Simple'dır. Eşleştir: No sooner … than · Hardly/Scarcely … when.

Agreeing — Short AnswersBirine katılırken: olumlu cümleye So + yardımcı + özne ("ben de öyle"), olumsuz cümleye Neither/Nor + yardımcı + özne ("ben de değil"). Yardımcı fiil her zaman öznenin önünde.

Here comes … · There lies …Yer bildiren bir ifade başa gelince, kısa cümlelerde fiil özneden önce gelebilir. Burada yardımcı fiil eklenmez; ana fiil doğrudan öne geçer (özne isim ise).

🎯 YÖKDİL Kısa Yol — Devrik
- Cümle başında olumsuz/sınırlayıcı bir kelime görürsen → boşlukta yardımcı fiil + özne sırasını ara.
- Present/Past Simple'da yardımcı yoksa do / does / did gelir; asıl fiil yalın kalır (does she complain).
- No sooner → than, Hardly/Scarcely → when. Eşini şaşırma.
- "If" yoksa ama anlam koşulsa → Were/Had/Should ile başlayan devrik koşulu düşün.
- Devrik koşulda olumsuz "not" ayrı yazılır (Had she not …), "n't" yok.
- Yer zarfı + isim özne → fiil öne geçer; ama özne zamir ise devrilme yok.
